Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's dad came from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California when she was seven years old. There were no electric lights. Ryder was a voracious read and often spent her time reading books as there was no TV. Ryder began taking acting classes when Ryder was twelve years old, in the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986 that she was in, was her debut major role. Ryder was only 15 when she got it. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour would be changed. Sadly, this didn't occur. But she continued to chase her dreams. Her breakthrough came through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue playing parts that proved successful in several movies. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
